چکیده

A theory of light reflection and transmission by an optically thin nanocomposite slab that contains randomly distributed metal nanoparticles (NPs) is developed. The underlying model treats NPs as point dipoles employs a dyadic Green’s function known analytically for allows one to obtain the refection coefficients in fully analytical form. also takes into account enhanced decay localized surface plasmons dense NP arrays scattering at roughness. It demonstrated first effect leads broadband perfect absorption observed such nanocomposites, whereas second responsible its omnidirectional character polarization insensitivity. These findings open up new possibilities engineer plasmonic nanocomposites.

Dynamical tuning between nearly perfect reflection, absorption, and transmission of light via graphene/dielectric structures

Exerting well-defined control over the reflection (R), absorption (A), and transmission (T) of electromagnetic waves is a key objective in quantum optics. To this end, one often utilizes hybrid structures comprised of elements with different optical properties in order to achieve features such as high R or high A for incident light. A desirable goal would be the possibility to tune between all ...

a comparison of teachers and supervisors, with respect to teacher efficacy and reflection

supervisors play an undeniable role in training teachers, before starting their professional experience by preparing them, at the initial years of their teaching by checking their work within the proper framework, and later on during their teaching by assessing their progress. but surprisingly, exploring their attributes, professional demands, and qualifications has remained a neglected theme i...

Reflection and transmission of solar light by clouds: asymptotic theory

The authors introduce a radiative transfer model CLOUD for reflection, transmission, and absorption characteristics of terrestrial clouds and discuss the accuracy of the approximations used within the model. A Fortran implementation of CLOUD is available for download. This model is fast, accurate, and capable of calculating multiple radiative characteristics of cloudy media including the spheri...

Plasmonic Micro Lens for Extraordinary Transmission of Broadband Light

Extraordinary transmittance and focusing of light in quasi far field region using miniaturized optical devices is a daunting task. A polarization independent, broadband, planar metallic transmissive micro aperture capable of achromatically focusing visible light in quasi far field region is proposed. The calculated enhancement factor of transmission efficiency was about ~2.2. The total transmis...

Coherent perfect absorption and reflection in slow-light waveguides.

We identify a family of unusual slow-light modes occurring in lossy multimode grating waveguides, for which either the forward or backward mode components, or both, are degenerate. In the fully degenerate case, the response can be modulated between coherent perfect absorption (zero reflection) and perfect reflection by varying the wave amplitudes in a uniform input waveguide. The perfectly abso...
